But you still had a chance to go to the title game in 2015 and still got lit up like a Christmas tree against Ohio State. Beating Michigan State wouldn’t have changed that.
The playoffs is a stretch, for sure. But without that MSU loss Mich likely enters that OSU game significantly higher ranked and more likely to fall as far afterwords. How that tie-breaker would have worked, I'm not sure.

With the loss to Michigan State, had MSU lost to Penn State, the winner of UM and OSU would have gone to the CCG. The game was played before MSU’s game so they had to believe that the game had serious ramifications but UM didn’t even show up.

In Bizzaro world, had UM beat OSU, all things being equal, UM would have been 7-0 in conference, OSU would have been 6-1. Winner of that game goes to the CCG. They get blasted by OSU, you have an 11-1 Ohio State against a 12-0 Iowa. Either way the team that loses should be above a 10-2 Michigan.

Ironically, special teams is also what ended up losing us that game. Either way, pretty much any other play in the last 10 seconds of that game wins it for Michigan.

Conversely, if that guy hadn't punted his ass off on one of his other plays, MSU would have been winning.

What if's are for fags.

So your argument is that a punter is not part of special teams?

No, dipshit. The punter, although part of the special teams, was singularly responsible for their lead. It's a nuance that I'm completely not surprised that you can't grasp.

I would say that Michigan State won the special teams battle.

So my argument is that special teams was why we were winning, and special teams was why we lost -- and your argument is that isn't true because it was specifically a punter who kept us in the game and also why we lost.....your ability to take what I've said, restate it and call me retarded is hilarious.

It is amazing how that one play can erase an entire game of domination.
Are you talking about the game that we out gained you by 156 yards, nearly doubling you up?

I meant specifically from special teams.
Oh, then absolutely. O’Neill was an absolute pimp that game and was going to get mad ass that night had he got that kick away. Now he can only get ass in East Lansing.

I would say that Michigan State won the special teams battle.

That's a very good point. And they dominated the rest of the game. More possession, 70% more offensive yards, twice as many 1st downs.

Clearly, the team that should have won did, but we've got to listen to these twats say, "but Harbaugh's good because if UoM had won a game they shouldn't have, they might have been in the playoffs if they didn't get assfucked by tOSU, which they did." It's nonsense.

Just in case you're wondering how I know you're retarded today...

I was the one that brought up the punter first. I was specifically talking about his play. You muddied it with the special teams shit, so I didn't restate anything.

Retard.

Didn't he have, like, a 99 yard punt or somesuchshit?

Guy was a beast. At least, until he wasn't. . .

He had an 80+ yard one, setting a school record.

Hard to really fault him here. He was a rugby player we adapted to football. I think normal kids who grew up playing football would have just jumped on the ball but he didn't have those instincts.
