Arizona (7-4) @ Philly (6-5)
- Who would've thought that this match up would have major playoff implications? Arizona has 3 winnable games coming up (Philly, St. Louis, and Tennessee) before losing to us in week 16 and then a week 17 match up that could decide who gets that last wild card spot. Now, Arizona does not have full control of their destiny...they will need some help. San Fran holds both the head to head and conference record tie breaker.
In order for Zona to get in the following has to happen
a) Zona has to win those three winnable games (because more likely than not San Fran will win their 3 winnable games)
b) Because Zona loses to us week 16 (24-13), we also need to beat San Fran week 14 otherwise that week 17 match up would mean nothing
c) Zona has to win that week 17 match up
...Now all of that changes if the underdog wins in the next highlighted match up
St. Louis (5-6) @ San Fran (7-4)
- On paper San Fran should win this by double digits. They're playing at home, they are the better team, they are getting healthier, and the rams are the rams. BUT this is the NFL and we've seen the Rams lay a whooping on a couple playoff contenders (albeit 2 playoff teams suffering from injuries) the last couple of weeks. We've seen the emergence of Tavon Austin and the x-factor his speed can be to a young offense. We've seen the Rams defense play better lately. This is very much a trap game for the 49ers. And oh what a loss would do to them because they face us the following week and could come out of week 14 a 7-6 team that is four games behind the division and two games behind the wild card.
Denver (9-2) @ Kansas City (9-2)
- I'm a die hard Peyton fan so I look forward to every game he plays but wow what a three week stretch. KC, New England, and KC again. That's like us facing San Fran, New Orleans, and San Fran all bunched up in a three week stretch.
What I'm looking forward to in this match up is how will Peyton respond after the debacle and historical collapse in New England. Justin Houston is out so that should make things a bit easier for the Broncos. Peyton is gonna be angry and he's gonna throw 4 tds. Broncos 31-20
