What do you make of UCLA?

I'm trying to rank them and I can't seem to figure out where to slot them. I've thought as high as 7 or 8 and as low as 20.

They had high expectations and have looked pretty pedestrian in all of their games. But they are 3-0, and have won 2 road games... and that Virginia win might carry at least a little bit of weight now.

Figuring shit out the hard way. Not so hot right now, but could be very good by late season. They got ranked high based on projected improvement, but their primary flaw last year, the offensive line, is still its biggest problem this year. If they keep winning close ones while they get it together, catching backup quarterbacks (which is possible against ASU now), they might be able to really peak at the right time.

Neuheisel JR is a better passer than Hundley.

Does he give UCLA a better chance to win though?

They are over-hyped and if they are a top25 team it's just barely.

The good news for them is that even as ugly as it's been, they have managed to win. So if they can get things going there is still hope. The bad news is, if they don't improve they are going to get killed when they play better teams. Ditto for Washington.

Right now, I think UCLA is overrated.

UCLA with Brett Hundley is better than Nebraska.

But UCLA seems to be be just barely winning.

So far this season, my prediction ability has sucked. I don't think UCLA has a chance against Oregon, USC, or Stanford. We will find out how good UCLA is when they take on the PAC 12 south which looks strong except for the Beefaloes. Although, I think the south has played schedules like UCLA, except for USC.

Very overrated; about as overrated as SCAR is. They have a good defense, but their offense sucks. Texas beat themselves more than UCLA beat Texas and we're not that good. They'll have about 3-4 losses once conference play starts.

Hard to figure them out. I thought they were highly talented, but they have been utterly unimpressive so far this year. Top 20 based on being 3-0 I guess. Haven't shown me anything to make me want to rank them better.

I am not sure. I do think the defense is legit. MLBs are probably the best in the country. The OL looks solid. I really dont see any holes, but I also dont see them doing much. Easily a top 15 team in terms of talent, probably top 10. I think you have to wait until ASU game to get a real read. 2 options:

1. They are sleeping walking through an early OOC schedule, where they are considerably more talented and logged a lot of frequent flier miles
2. They are what UCLA has been through out the majority of their history. A really talented team, whose sum is less than the parts.

I think they may be slightly overrated - but they deserve their ranking. Traveling across country to play Virginia is a decent win. Traveling to Texas to play the Horns - is a decent win.

3-0 with 2 good road wins deserves a good ranking, imo.

UCLA could beat them all, and fortunately, we play them all. Oregon in four weeks.

Then why doesn't Oregon schedule them or any other east coast opponent for that matter? Instead they load their OOC schedule with creampuffs like South Dakota and Wyoming. lol

Props for the Michigan State win at home though, even on a down year for the B1G that's a good win.

Future opponents include Ohio, aTm, Nebraska.
