missed field goal, wide left from 40 yds. PSU gave up a key sack on 3rd down when the OL let someone through unblocked. Again. Same thing happened on the first drive, but they were able to overcome it. Not this time. They will have to get that fixed.
Announcer's comment "Virginia looks bad... Rocco does not look like a veteran QB running this team". This after a miscommunication between Rocco and a receiver. I think that's probably overstating it a bit. And then Rocco picks up the 1st down. UVA has made several mistakes... and as soon as I type that there's a false start. But PSU is looking beatable as well. Which team can correct their mistakes? And... UVA drops a deep pass.
Rocco had a man open on 3rd down on a long crossing pattern, but overthrew him and they have to punt it away. Ball takes a PSU bounce and goes into the end zone for a touchback.
UVA made a very nice stop on the WR screen there to force a PSU punt. But PSU fakes the punt and picks up the first down on a direct snap to one of the protection guys.
UVA got very lucky with the PSU QB having to leave the game for a 4th down attempt that they were unable to convert when the freshman QB replacement overlooked an open receiver. But then on consecutive plays UVA takes a loss on a run, has a WR drop a perfect throw, and then Rocco's pass is tipped and intercepted at the line.
PSU drops a TD pass and then lets time expire before they can attempt another FG.
Miami puts together a nice last-minute-of-the-half drive but only gets a FG when they run out of time. Trails 24-6 and will need to make significant changes on D at the half. And stop fumbling (2 giveaways).
Clemson scores again and leads 28-10 with more than 8 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. Ball St. has not been able to stop the Boyd-Hopkins connection (5 rec, 90 yds, 2 TDs).
MD leads 26-3 at the half. Completely dominating Temple.
BC has only allowed 17 yds to Maine, but trails 3-0 in the 1st after 2 fumbles.
PSU vs UVA isn't even enjoyable. It's just sad. Granted we're playing like shit today as well but still. Maybe there's something in the air in the state of Virginia today that's preventing functional offenses
PSU finally made a FG from 32 yds. Was real ugly, but it went through. This was off UVA's 4 turnover of the day. You're right, wildturkey... that game is pretty sad.
