The last 3 weeks have been the most impressive under Tomlin in 3 years.
Haley...the OL has had their moment and a few pieces moved around for minor injuries but we're seeing the effect of the main 5 getting a lot of snaps and growing as a unit under fire. Ben has found his RZ threat in Bryant, imo this kid is just scratching the surface of his potential. AB is doing his thing, Wheaton has been more productive...Moore/Miller have contributed to go with Bell & Blount...the only thing we've yet to see on OFC is any consistency out of Archer, and I think that's coming...in a way I'm happy they haven't put all the cards on the table.
Lebeau...I really think they bottomed out on DEF @ CLE and he or Tomlin probably said enough is enough, bend don't break is not working...they have been sending 5+ rushers @ the passer at a clip we haven't seen since 2011...that along with some upgraded play from the DEs...they are getting to the QB now.
Whose hurting for this one...already known to be out are Shazier (ankle) Shark, (other hammy now), Troy (knee, hope it's not the calf related stuff he's struggled with in the past)...if they win, I might shut all 3 down until the Saints game. We'll have to see how the rest are graded by tomorrow, but I feel Allen is more than capable (and I was wondering why they kept so many S)
On paper this should be no contest, but I think we know better now. With Vick...the zone blitz should work, much older now, but if your back is turned playing man, he can still burn you running it. Every team has talent, but I really don't see enough OFC from the Jets to beat the Steelers this week.
OFC, they have to come down a notch or two don't they? The weapons are gaining confidence...the Jets DL imo has their best players...the OL has to keep it together...Rex is certain to send heat.
Vegas is being a bit cautious here too with a PIT +5 line...I'm in step with Vegas, but I like PIT to cover. This game will probably be closer than the records indicate it should be.
PIT 26-20
What say you?
