Is there a way this rule can be revisited somehow? This ended up being a 2.5 yard penalty which really seems like an awkward stance given what transpired here. 1st and 20 would make more sense from the 5 or whatever it was, imo.

Cheap shot. Football is a tough game and not for the faint of heart, but he clearly took the shot when he knew the guy was pretty much defenseless and he could deliver the knockout blow. Pussy move IMO.

Great point. I've thought the same thing with regards to false start, delay of game, and holding penalties inside the 5 yard line. Rather than penalize half the distance (which doesn't really hurt all that much), extend the line to gain by whatever amount the penalty should have been. So if it's first and 10 from the 2, and you get called for holding, rather than marching the offense back a yard and making it first and 11 from the one, move the sticks 10 yards down field and make it first and 20 from the 2 instead.

He was trying to catch the ball and down it before it went into the end zone for a touchback. Smart play. The block by Amendola to prevent that would have been smart too (and legal) if he hadn't tried to knock his head off.

I dont know how defensive players get suspended all of the time and Amendola doesn't get suspended other than his size. If he was a bigger player using the form that he did, he'd be out against Denver guaranteed.

Agree. That is why I asked. I was wondering if his comment was determined to be incorrect. My thinking was he tried to hurt him and hit him high and was basically a dick on the play...so 15 yards for being a dick seems fair...
