Series preview: New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals - Mets Blog - ESPN

FIRST PITCH: April has been very good to the New York Mets, despite a couple of slip-ups in the Bronx and two more in Miami. April at Citi Field has been perfect for the Mets, who return home for one last game Thursday night against the Washington Nationals, before the calendar flips to May.

The Mets are 15-7, in first place in the National League East and six games ahead of the fourth-place Nationals, who were heavily favored to win the division but are off to a terrible start.

Washington did win the division in 2014, helped in part by a 9-1 record at Citi Field, with 58 runs and 18 home runs in the 10 games. The Mets are 10-0 at Citi Field this year, and allowed just 28 runs and nine home runs in the 10 games on that brilliant opening homestand against the Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves.

They'll end April in first place for the first time since 2010; the 15 April wins are their most since they went 15-9 in April 2007. The last time they won 16 in April was 2006, which was also the last time they made the playoffs.

To make matters worse, that E-6 last inning also helped drive up deGrom's pitch count from the high 30's to the mid 70's.

btw: Flores was just greeted w/ a bunch of boos after Strassy K'd him.....lol
and rightly so.

And this game has really gone south and deteriorated, mainly due to that mother fucking error which completely changed the energy ..... now looks like deGrom is coming out.....I'm done.

Sandy had better be on the phone, making some moves.

Guess it's NBA time again.......:L
