Weird game...but they pulled it out.

And then....an even weirder thing occurred.
Eppler stepped in it again. He probably could've got a much better return for D.R. had he waited a few more days FFS.
He's been one of the top relievers in MLB this season...and that's all we got back??
Wow....just wow.

The Wrap & Recap...

The Box...

The Vids...

Trainer's Room...

RF Starling Marte (migraines)
Expected return
: August
When Marte was placed on the injured list on July 20 due to migraines so severe that they caused him to vomit, the move was considered mostly precautionary. But Marte still wasn't close to a return when he reached eligibility on July 27, according to manager Buck Showalter. That's partially because he continues to experience lesser migraines and partially because his partner is due to give birth, which has delayed Marte's trip to receive a second opinion. At this point, it appears likely that the outfielder's absence will extend into August. (Last updated: July 27)

Ouch!...

Three Mets batters were hit by pitches, increasing their league-leading total to 72.
New York set a major league record by being hit by 112 pitches last season.

Up Next...

Mets starter RHP Max Scherzer (8-4, 4.20 ERA) will be on the mound for the 2nd game of the four-game set on Friday night.
LHP MacKenzie Gore (6-7, 4.38 ERA) will start for the Nationals.

Sounds like he wants to stay.....but who knows.
He has some leverage.....and Eppler should listen to w/e he has to say.

That said...I'm disappointed in the underwhelming return we got back for Robertson.
Our GM has to do better.

Next couple of days will be interesting....

SNY‘s Andy Martino reports Tommy Pham and Mark Canha are “generating trade interest and are likely to be traded.” He also said Omar Narváez is “very available,” but his contract with a player option for 2024 could be tough to move.

Sports Illustrated’s Pat Raggazao reported that the Los Angeles Dodgers and Minnesota Twins have checked in on Mets’ outfielders Tommy Pham and Mark Canha.
