Van noy is short term. We'd still be looking at cutting someone. Van noy just delays it.

Right, but we're talking at least 4 weeks down the road. So for the time being...

Lewis is a good special teamer, plays all four phases reliably.

I'd think about cutting Don Carey for another CB.

Ideally I'd try to stash Carey on IR. He's not great (or good, really) in coverage, but is an asset in run support. I'd put him on the IR with that hammy and have him start bulking up to transition to strong safety to compete for a spot in camp next year.

He looked well behind the curve from what I saw during the preseason games...

If the Lions were looking to bring in any of them -- I'd love to see them bring in Stephen Hill just to see what he could do with a real QB. When the QB's throwing you the ball consist of Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow and Geno Smith -- it is tough to really gauge how successful you can be as a deep threat, when you don't have anyone throwing you the ball.

Hell -- I'd take Stephen Hill over Corey Fuller. Hill is actually younger (23 for Hill, 24 for Fuller), bigger (6'4" to 6"2) and faster than Fuller (4.36 Hill to 4.43 Fuller). He also has game experience already.

Hill wouldn't be asked to be anything but another option on the offense as the deep threat opposite Calvin when he is called upon.

I like hill better than what we have at the bottom of the WR group. Lets see what he can do with a real QB. The jets kills offensive players. Hate watching boring jets games.

We reportedly didn't make any waiver wire claims.

I agree. I don't think he's interested in making the switch, but with that kind of size and speed he could be a weapon as a WR if he's capable of learning to properly run his routes. Body control is an issue for bigger receivers, but Pryor is extremely athletic, so it would be interesting to see how he'd do in that department.

I just said yesterday he needs to follow that Jag. DRob knew he was not going to be QB. He is a NFL player and more than Tebow's ego could handle.

In that four week span you will learn something from player picked up...he works great, he don't, make him look elsewhere for work.

Miggy issue GVSU, so really can't say. I would say 4-6 weeks.

Not concerned when he comes back as long he is 100% when he does and does not have Miggy setbacks.

And DRob is twice as fast as Tebow. I saw them race a 100 yard dash.....Drob crossed the finish line Tebow was at the 50 yard line.

I didn't realize foot speed was that important for an NFL QB.

WTF? How many errors is that already 4? I'm counting JD Martinez play as error in the first even though the announcer said it was a double.

Rob Base has this right. Sam ain't that good of player. Westbrooks exposed him as PS player and that is about the extent of it. You don't want the headache this guy is going to create wherever he goes.

I am not a big fan of taking slow, weak, under performing guys as a rush end. Sam at best....best is a special teams depth guy. And I would not take a guy that brings that little to the table when they will bring a circus with them.

Ocho Cinco could because he had skills. Pac Man Jones as well. Guys without huge upside need to be seen and not heard.

Apparently my earlier post didn't go through. Basically I don't like any of these guys enough to cut anyone. I'd give Hill a look, but am doubtful he is worth signing. Other than that I would replace Carey with Bailey. He can't cut it as CB anymore, but he may be able to be a nickle/FS. Him middle of the field with Dig and Quin closer to the line in a big nickle package. I acutally like that a lot. 8 in the box with still great coverage against shorter routes.
