The good news is we get two good post players to play if Barksdale doesn't continue to improve. Maurice Kirby (6'9", 235 lbs according to JJ) already has enough muscle to play 4 or 5 in the ACC. We also get Thompson (6'11" 210 lbs) who needs to put on some muscle but will get up and down the floor.

They're still typical freshman and sophomores. You're going to see ups and downs. I'm sure you'll see some point in the season where Barksdale will pass Wood as well. We saw the same thing with Green and Eddie in their first two years and now they look to be great players.

Honestly this sounds bad but I was hoping after game 2 or 3 we would go .500 in regular season in football so we can make the needed changes to become a real contender in football at some point.

no doubt, and i felt the same way a few games in, after it was apparent that this was not going to be a season to be too proud of. Now, if we finish 7-6 or 6-7 and dont make any changes....i will be livid.

The basketball team has been fun to watch. I see alot of passion out of our guys, and that's making us better. Careful with expectations, as JJ and the guys will be thoroughly tested throughout his first year (especially in ACC play), but there is a ton to be excited for.

Good GOD, the coaches poll is out, and somehow Kentucky is 19th. 4-3 Kentucky, with their only remotely acceptable win against Maryland. As much as people complain about preseason bias in football, basketball is infinitely worse.
