Who the hell would have thought a few months ago that our bball team would have more wins after 7 games than the football team......and possibly be ranked.

It's still early, but JJ may have been the right call after all.

Do we have an inverse success/failure deal with our football and basketball team?

NCAA needs a flopping rule.

Did you really just quote yourself? NEG'd!

Great win today. Made the trip with a buddy to catch the game. Crowd was electric. Might have even been better than the Duke game when Gameday was in town. Very impressive team performance today. It's definitely a good sign that we hung around with Green on the bench (glad you guys thought those were BS fouls cuz they were).

Should be a fun season from here on out. Today's win against a quality opponent proves we should at least be in every game. I'm still not going to set any expectations though. But this team looks to have a pretty solid foundation to build on (as well as JJ from a program's stance). At the very least, this squad is far more entertaining to watch than Greenberg's stall ball system.

I am now a VT and Wichita State fan the rest of the year. Iowas 2 losses are to teams that are a combined 15-0 which is something we can survive. Keep on getting those W's fellas.

Yep, we will be rooting for Iowa as well. Bout time VT basketball had the dice roll their way. Still a long season, but VT never seemed to close games out under Greenberg as they have this season.

I know this is looking way ahead, but I'm worried about next year. Rankin seems to be tentative and make bad decisions, also not a scorer. Also read that while we like Clarke at PG, he hasn't played it at all this year. Someone talk me down!

Offense will run through Brown next year unless Rankin really steps up. I am worried also.

No doubt there will be a drop off to whoever we go to after Erick Green graduates, but we might be able to make up the scoring as a group. Defense and steals is another story.

We get Adam Smith who has proven he can score the ball against ACC competition.

Robert Brown has continued to improve and hasn't been a bad facilitator either in the limited minutes he's had at PG. Robert Brown could already score.

I could see Clark playing a lot of minutes at PG as well. If he can defend, he's going to get minutes.

Bobby Brown will score. Remember, Erick Green was god awful as a freshman. Like enough that I cringed every time he put a shot up, and half of them seemed to fly over the backboard. Now he's looking like an ACC POY candidate. We'll be good

Yep. We'll be fine next year. We'll have Eddie and Raines as seniors; Barksdale, Brown, and Rankin as juniors; and Wood and Van Zegeren as sophomores. There is going to be very good depth among the classes, which is something we haven't had.

I think we'll start to see Rankin and Brown emerge as the season progresses, similar to Green his sophomore year.

Just starting to follow the bball team and my my, what have we here! This team could very conceivably be undefeated going into conference play.

The good news is we get two good post players to play if Barksdale doesn't continue to improve. Maurice Kirby (6'9", 235 lbs according to JJ) already has enough muscle to play 4 or 5 in the ACC. We also get Thompson (6'11" 210 lbs) who needs to put on some muscle but will get up and down the floor.
