Oh I am with you. I think I know what Fooz was trying to say, and if I came off like I was blasting him, then apologies. That wasn't my intent. I had a couple HS coaches who were more like Bud Foster. In your face, get in the trenches with you, passionate yellers who gave a damn about you, and the game, and the win. My head coach was not at all like that. Actually now that I think about it, he was alot like Newsome. He didn't know what the hell he was doing. He sells insurance now.

Players should feel like the coaches are 100% invested in it as they are. They they are doiong what they can to improve themselves as coaches so they can improve you as p;layers. If that is what was said. Agree 100%.

When you have good coaches like Foster and Gray, players improve under their watch. Compare Exum and the rest of the defense in the first half to the second half of the season. Then look at LT and the offense. Hmmm really makes you think

So Sonny Dykes is interviewing for the NC State job. Does he take Franklin with him and ruin our asperations of getting a new offense?

Agreed. I don't know that that ruins our aspirations of getting a new offense, though. There are other fish in the sea. I have concerns about Franklin being the right fit for VT anyway.

I think the other Franklin gets the job (if he wants it). The NCST AD's panties gets tied up in a not about him and honestly, he has taken Vandy to new heights in recruiting and on the field in just a few years. They have a formidable team this year.

I don't think Vandy's Franklin is interested in the NC State job.

If we could somehow get Charlie Strong or James Franklin to replace Beamer when he leaves, our program would be set for like 20 more years.

I would be very surprised if nothing happens.

I think Beamer is a good coach.

There are implications in this statement, the primary one being that he'll recognize that what he's doing now isn't working, and that changes must be made at all levels of the program. He's got motive and opportunity -- no way a good coach waste's that.

What makes you say this? I hope you're correct, but precedent seems strongly against our favor.

see i'm the other way.. i would be more surprised if something happens, then if nothing happens

as debbie downer as it sounds, i expect "we're still getting used to ocain calling the plays and adding in some of these wrinkles, i dont want to put an end to our progress" to be the qualifying statement for doing nothing

What VTscores said about Beamer being a good coach and the implications that come from that statement. And I would say precedent seems strongly IN our favor, not against it. Beamer has made changes before. And I haven't seen anything that indicates he's particularly tied to Newsome, although I hope the changes go beyond that.

If Beamer doesn't make changes then he's no longer a good coach. It would mean he is unable to diagnose problems on his team. I still say his football knowledge is incomplete. He doesn't understand offense or even give respect to it as a part of the game. It seems like he believes football is 50% special teams, 40% defense and 10% offense

in how many years? Aside from O'cains playcalling and last years administration moves, what are you talking about?

We've had 6 new coaches in the past 6 years ( gray, newsome, ocain, Sherman, beamer, & Brown) so it's not like we never have turnover.
