UK vs UF for SEC Championship

All I want to see in this game is; UK and UF go "Balz to the Wall" for 40 minutes...giving killer hits to the other team...taking killer hits in return and both refusing to quit.

I think you got your wish here. Cats battled back when they could have folded. UF played a little tighter the last 5 minutes than they have in most of their games this season. I think Billy will give them a break for a day or so and get them mentally prepared for the big dance. Kentucky should do pretty well even with their young team. UF had their number this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if they make it to the Sweet Sixteen, but I think that’s as far as they can go with such a young team.

It is typical of fans to do that... kind of like people who go to casinos and always win. Somehow the casino manages to stay in business.. but everyone always seems to do well.

People will tell you a team is overrated, etc... and even if they win 30 games... they will be there the 1 game you loose to say "I told you so..."

Kinda of like South Florida real estate in the 90's and early 2000. Had a friend a work who use to tell me she wouldn't buy a house because the market is going to collapse. 9 years later it did... and she was like "I told you!" but failed to acknowledge the fact I made 7 figures on it during those 7 years even after the crash.

I like the first part of your post, however, looked to me as Randle, Poythress, and especially Culley-Stein really played a lot better and showed a lot of heart fighting for rebounds and loose balls. The number of blocked shots really bothered me. James Young is a great shooter and Cal needs to get him the ball more by setting some screens. A little more people and ball movement would help. Again, I was not impressed with Andrew Harrison's court presence. We were able to take the ball away from Kentucky on too many occasions and it's the point guards responsibility to see that does not happen. Also Johnson was not a factor and that's one big body that should have been more focused. When things went wrong his attitude went wrong as well. At any rate, a little better play from both Harrisons, and I think Kentucky is going to beat some teams.

Did Scotty even hit a FT today? He played his typical great defensive game and he ran the floor well and shot well overall, but it seems like he missed all of his FT’s.

We sure did not play well for a long stretch in that 2nd half while Kentucky found out they could win and played with a lot of desire. Our foul shooting was terrible 7/17 and Kentucky made theirs. Scotty was 0-5, I think. That said, he played his heart out and made a couple of 3-s when we needed them. Other than Frazier, we did not shoot well, however some of that was changing shots to get over their big men. They did a great job of taking Frazier out of the game the 2nd half and we were unable to find another "go to" guy. IMO, Kentucky has the toughest inside group of guys in CB. Kentucky is a team that is a tough match-up for us because they are so big and physical. Not many teams around that can deal with Kentucky inside.

It's a shame folks who really should be worried about what their team is doing come on an SEC thread and make boorish comments. Glad you checked and found out that it was not Gator people; especially when the timing of those remarks came just after a heart breaking series of events and your boys lose by 1 point. Actually, it's a win as the players now understand what it takes to beat a good team and that will serve them well in the next few weeks. Don't be surprised when the Cats take out Wichita St....I know I won't be. I'm looking forward to the 4th meeting of Kentucky and Florida over the next few weeks.

Has anyone else noticed that Prather is playing like crap lately? Sure he scores, but he gets off balance and/or throws lazy passes 4-5 times a game that end up getting stolen. He just looks lazy out there with the ball sometimes...

This has not been lost to me. I think he might be tired. his best asset is his first step and its been sluggish of late, then again this is the longest that he has ever really been healthy so maby he is tired.

With Frazier playing such a huge part of our offense we need to find more ways to get him the ball. He was a nonfactor in the second half against UK.
