To be honest, I don't see a path to the Bronx for Rutherford. He's a great prospect but his ETA for MLB is 2020, he has Judge and Frazier way out in front of him and if they do go crazy and sign Harper next winter he'll be a guy they trade at the 2019 deadline anyway.

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports that the Yankees have reached out to the Mets about Lucas Duda and Addison Reed.

The Yankees and Mets haven't made too many trades over the years, but it certainly makes sense that the Bombers would be interested in Duda. The impending free agent has put up a nice .248/.355/.550 batting line with 16 home runs this season and has gone deep in consecutive games. Reed would give the Yanks some help in bridging the gap between their starters and closer Aroldis Chapman.

Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan reports that the Rockies have reached out to the Orioles to ask about Kevin Gausman and Dylan Bundy.

Passan says that Colorado is "poking around" on the starting pitching market. They were connected to Gausman over the winter, reportedly asking for him in a potential trade for Carlos Gonzalez. Gausman is under team control through 2020, while Bundy is under control through 2021.

Can't say I'm thrilled either. The D-backs farm system isn't much better than Detroit's, and the top guy we get (Lugo) is only the #4 rated prospect in their system.

Tigers acquired INFs Jose King, Dawel Lugo, and Sergio Alcantara from the Diamondbacks for OF J.D. Martinez.

King, an 18-year-old middle-infielder from the Dominican Republic, has batted just .261/.333/.348 with zero homers and two stolen bases in 13 games this season in the rookie-level Arizona League. He did rack up 21 steals in 61 games in the 2016 Dominican Summer League, but King is certainly the lesser-known prospect of the bunch.

That at least brought us the division and Doyle Alexander went 9-0 with a 1.53 ERA. That did hurt for years after, but I would have rather kept JD than 3 infielders with little chance of making it to the big club in an impressive manner.

Tigers acquired INFs Sergio Alcantara, Dawel Lugo, and Jose King from the Diamondbacks for OF J.D. Martinez.

Alcantara has slashed .279/.344/.362 with three home runs and 10 stolen bases (in 21 attempts) over 86 games this season as the everyday shortstop for High-A Visalia. The 21-year-old from the Dominican Republic is a long, long way from becoming a viable major league regular.

Tigers acquired INFs Dawel Lugo, Sergio Alcantara, and Jose King from the Diamondbacks for OF J.D. Martinez.

Lugo is the most promising prospect in this return package for Detroit, though the 22-year-old third baseman hasn't exactly lit it up this season at the Double-A level. As of the announcement of the trade on Tuesday evening, Lugo was batting .282/.325/.428 with seven home runs and 43 RBI through 88 games with Jackson.

The move signals that a trade might be afoot. Yolmer Sanchez is now at DH and batting fourth versus Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw.
