Id like to give this kid they got from the Brewers a real look (3-4 last night, was amazing in AAA this season)
The Yankees got a good young hitter and only gave up a mediocre pitcher in Webb. I bet the Brewers are second guessing that trade.

yeah, Cooper was raking in AAA but there is a logjam at 1st for the Brewers so unfortunately, he was expendable

certainly performing much better that Webb at this point :gaah:
Webb was terrible in his two outings with Milwaukee.

According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees are "close" to acquiring Todd Frazier, David Robertson, and Tommy Kahnle from the White Sox.

Bruce Levine of WSCR and 670 The Score was first to suggest the blockbuster trade might be happening. It would be a huge boost to parts of the Yankees' roster that need boosting, and it also keeps the rival Red Sox from landing a number of their primary trade targets. Frazier has slugged 91 home runs over the last two-and-a-half seasons, though he is due to become a free agent this winter. Robertson, who began his career with the Yankees, is having his best year since 2013. He is under contract for $13 million in 2018. Kahnle, a hard-throwing right-hander reliever, boasts a 2.50 ERA and 60/7 K/BB ratio in 36 innings this season and is under club control through 2020.

God, I hope they didnt give up much

As bad as the Dback farm system is, that was a light return for Martinez. Alcantara & King likely won't sniff the big leagues & Lugo projects as more of a utility player than anything else.

I am surprise Brito or Leyba weren't part of the deal.

Betances is showing the Yanks why they need Robertson. Need to get him out of this 8th inning role. Too much drama usually.

I keep hearing the Cubs are still looking at Gray. Even after getting Quintana it kind of makes sense with Arrieta and Lackey hitting free agency . Candelario, De La Cruz, Alzolay are all expendale I'm but I think you'd have to throw in a guy who is already in the bigs. Lots of options there but not sure how willing they would be to do that

Kahnle might be better than Robertson right now.

Since it feels like the Sox are hoping to compete in 2020, when Kahnle would still be under control, kind of surprised they are dealing him. But relievers aren't that hard to replace I guess.

Will be interesting to see how Jon Daniels handles things at the deadline. Let's be honest, the Rangers aren't winning anything this year. Best they could hope for is a wild card spot but they're not even remotely built for a playoff run. Rangers have some pieces other teams would be interested in, starting with Darvish. If you can't extend him before the deadline you have to trade him. Gomez could also draw some interest. Rangers also have a couple of bullpen pieces as well to dangle. Lucroy should be as good as gone. Hoping Daniels decides to sell.
