Patterson for me. I know it sounds crazy, but it seems Marshall has nowhere to go but down and lately, he seems more interested in reading the teleprompter on Inside the NFL, than reading the game plan for the Bears.
Patterson and Bridgewater should be able to "grow up" together nicely.
That being said, if I owned Marshall, I would make the Patterson owner add a nice side dish to the deal.
I think I'd lean toward Marshall. Sure, he's 30, but he still has a few years left in the tank. And other than his rookie season, he's had over 1K receiving in every season. He's averaged 1248.7 yards in his last 7 seasons. (That may snap this season since he's on pace for 798 yards.)
Meanwhile, Patterson only has potential. In his only season, he had 469 receiving yards. And right now, he's on pace for 486 yards this year. I like Ron Turner as his OC. But the QB situation is a mess. And it wouldn't surprise me if Turner is hired as a head coach for 2015, leaving Patterson's fate in someone less experienced.
I know many fantasy owners lean toward the homerun type player like Patterson, but Marshall is more of a sure thing. At least, more sure that he'll outscore Patterson.
I like Marshall as well. He is still a top 5 WR IMO and should stay in the top 10 for the next few years. And Cutler may not be all that but Cordy does not have much throwing to him in Minn.
