Or even Metallica, who I lost interest in when the Black album came out.
I like this list, but AC/DC kills me at No. 2, ahead of Priest and Sabbath.
Ronnie James was/is the man tho
After Maiden you could put the rest in any order.
The Clash (only band that really matters, after all)
Best and most energetic concert I've ever seen on the Give Em Enough Rope tour. OUTFUCKING STANDING......
Were you in Vancouver when they came in '79?
I'm sure this discussion has been had umpteen times here, but sort of fishing for opinions here... I think there's a blatantly obvious four that have to belong in any and every list... Those being in no particular order :
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin
The Who
I seem to have a tough time coming up with a fifth... Who am I missing? Or do you really want to make a case that one of these four don't belong?
That be the one. Commodore Ballroom.... The whole town was buzzing.... One of my best friends got stomped at it, really badly. And we didn't even know until after it was over.
Also saw them in 82? At Kerrsdale Arena? Sure about the venue, not so much the year. It was after Combat Rock was out.
"Computer God" is a great song....
They must have come to twice to Vancouver in '79 because I saw them at the PNE agrodome in fall with D.O.A, and The Rebels. It was quite the show, to saw the least. Randy Rampage even talks about it - Bloodied But Unbowed - Punk Movie and New Wave Music Documentary

3. Allman Brothers
I strongly prefer Country music, but my top 5 rock bands would be:
1. Lynyrd Skynyrd
Has anyone mentioned CCR yet? I forgot them too. Incredible band.
