Bell went through the Eagles and Colts without landing a job before ending up in Detroit. He's been under two different Head Coaches while on the team and all I can say about him is "underachiever."

He did and only played 5 games with the Colts and was let go to make room on the roster for an Offensive Tackle. The Colts were only a little better than Lions running game in that time frame.

The bigger issue right now IMHO are... is Calvin going to retire and open up more Cap Space. What's Quinn going to do in Free Agency and the Draft.

If he's on the hot seat for next year I "partly" don't understand why BQ's sticking with him. To me, it seems like a waste of opportunity to waste a year before a new philosophy and scheme to get installed. On the other hand, BQ may not like what's out there for the HC job right now.

Because it allows us to retain coordinators (and possibly get another year out of CJ). We can promote 1 of the coordinators next year if JC is making bad decisions or getting in the way.
