I'm okay with Ohio State being left out but I don't want to see another SEC conference game.

Yeah, nobody want's to watch Alabama and Clemson Rd 3 or the Oklahoma vs Georgia games that feature a great offense against a great defense.

Get out of here with that bullshit.

And we didn't want to see another 30 point B1G blowout.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you get blown out by the eventual National Champs.

NEW ORLEANS -- Alabama loved a rematch. Not so much of the rest of the country.

It turns out most television viewers didn't want to see Alabama-LSU again, at least not an uncompetitive rematch.

Final ratings for Alabama's 21-0 victory over LSU were the third lowest for a national championship in the 14-year history of the BCS. The All-SEC affair, the first championship pairing teams from the same conference, drew a 14.0 rating on ESPN. The lowest ratings were a 13.7 for USC-Oklahoma in 2005 and a 13.8 for

fully disagree. I'd love to see how UGA's RB trio can keep pace with Mayfield, and who doesn't want to see Clemson-Alabama after the last two championship games? Both games were awesome and it would be fun watching two of the best defenses in the nation go at it.

That would be more valid if Bama and UGA actually played each other this year. They didn't.

I'm interested in the playoff this year. Not disappointed @ all that Ohio State didn't get in.

Except that an Alabama-Georgia matchup wouldn't be a rematch.
They haven't played each other in like a generation.

Or since 2015 when Georgia was favored and Alabama won 38-10.

I'd say these teams are more evenly matched than we've yet had in the playoff, and it doesn't feel like there are just two warming up for each other. This is a year the BCS would've utterly fucked.

I agree with the OP, I’m really pissed the committee put in the 4 most deserving/best teams. An it has nothing to do with WVU not making it.

This is great.
Oklahoma has never played Georgia.
And Alabama almost never plays Georgia.

I mean, who doesn't like that shit.

The SEC is at risk here, also.

They don't want to see both Bama and UGA lose in the semi's...that would follow
them and put a chip in their mystique.

SEC in the playoffs is 3-2, with one title. They'd lose some credibility if they fell to
3-4. If nothing else, they'd lose the benefit of the doubt.

I don't think it is the match mattered to everyone as much as lot of people don't want to see a team in a playoff that can't win their conference.

Interestingly, the three lowest overnight ratings for the BCS Championship Game occurred in a year when there was some controversy over the participating teams. The previous low (14.3), in 2002, featured Nebraska, which didn't win its conference. LSU's win over Oklahoma in 2004 featured a Sooners team that didn't win its conference.

I think Oklahoma is gonna run the table. The Clemson Bama matchup is entertaining as fuck. UGA Bama haven't played each other so it would be a fresh game (Dawgs get whipped badly tho)

Don't be salty

The overnight rating for Alabama-LSU drew the lowest rated for a BCS Championship Game. But last night's game escaped that distinction after all of the markets were reported.
