Hmmm that is not exactly correct....the Big East over played a bad hand trying to re-negotiate a television deal and got nothing....the Big 12 JUST added Wv and TCU and negotiated the second largest television contract in College Football...

Why pay a UCF 125 million just to fill out to 12 teams when there are schools like Maryland that are willing to jump from one precieved power conference (ACC) to a real one in the Big 10?...I would suggest there are plenty of big schools that want to join the Big12, but as is the case with all the power conferences at the moment...and that includes your beloved Mountaineers BTW....no one can leave for another 5 years based on the agreements all these schools signed to get their TV deals......that my friend is why no teams have moved at this time...the only viable schools that has that flexibility at the moment is BYU.........

The BE stayed at 8 schools in football because the basketball schools would not allow the football side to gain a majority out of greed, the B12 will not now go above 10 because short sighted greed of not wanting todays payout per school to dip, it did destroy the BE, and will destroy the B12.

There is still a Huge difference between the conferences.....first, the BE was not an AQ...the Big 12 is...second...Texas and OU did not anchor the conference...if they decided to leave...then maybe you have something to argue...But why would Texas leave? they have a Notre Dame deal in place...they would lose it if they chose to go elsewhere.....

:wtf2: The BE most certainly was AQ, but moving forward will not be, the B12 brass and school presidents should learn from the demise of the BE. Texas has been flirting with the PAC, B11 off and on for a while. The B12 as it was at 12 teams was just as dysfunctional as the BE was, the schools that left, and some that stayed blamed Texas for that dysfunction, TAM, Colorado, Mizzou, Nebraska ALL wanted away from Texas, for whatever reason. We will see in the future where the fault was, OSU, OU, Texas, and TAM were set to join the PAC a few years ago, there is talk here of the B11 going hard after OU and Texas in the next round.

The BE was an AQ league, WTF are you guys drinking? It was stated above they had no AQ status, They had no tie in to a particular bowl, hence the reason WVU went to three different BSC bowls.

Not entirely correct. They played in the BCS, not the BSC. Maybe Poppy is attempting to rename it. On top of that, Notre Dame had the ability to take the BE spot under certain conditions.
