Explain, please. How can an offsides penalty be correct if no one is offsides?

I can't explain.

They're talking about it on Sportcenter and they said by rule it's correct but it's a stupid rule.. I tuned in like halfway through so idk what they were talking about but it appears the refs called it right?

Since no UNC players is beyond the 35 as the kicker kicks the ball how the hell is that offside? The closest UNC player is still a yard behind the 35...

I have no idea, but ESPN sucks when it comes to defending this crap...it's about $$$ so they'd tell you hell is cold...water is dry or just about anything else to keep the $$$'s flowing

Good catch, looks like only 10 to me but that isn't illegal I don't think.

Onside kick offsides should be able to reviewed. Those calls are too important. Need to make a rule change next year.

I mean this is a terrible call. The most horseshit part about it though is that the refs didn’t even call the offsides on a specific UNC player. It was literally called on no one.

I don’t know about everyone else but Jesus I am sick of watching football games every week that are decided by the refs

It's quite simple. A refs job isn't to view a play and make the best call he can make. His fucking job is to call a penalty if he sees the penalty actually occur.
