It's quite simple. A refs job isn't to view a play and make the best call he can make. His fucking job is to call a penalty if he sees the penalty actually occur.

unc got royally screwed. they were rolling. Clemson couldn't stop them.

the real question is: Who were the refs on the phone with that told them to not allow unc to possibly win this game.

I mean this is a terrible call. The most horseshit part about it though is that the refs didn’t even call the offsides on a specific UNC player. It was literally called on no one.

I don’t know about everyone else but Jesus I am sick of watching football games every week that are decided by the refs
