Cowboys signed Ezekiel Elliott to a six-year, $90 million contract extension.
The deal includes a whopping $50 million guaranteed. Zeke's $15 million annually not only surpasses Todd Gurley's previous league-high mark of $14.375 million per year, it officially makes the 24-year-old Cowboys star the league's highest-paid runner and ties him to Dallas through the 2026 season. Archer reports Elliott will be on the field practicing Wednesday, but there's been no word on any limitations or timeshare as he settles back in post-Cabo holdout. Assuming he's good to go for Sunday, Elliott is a clear-cut top-three fantasy option in Dallas' season opener against the Giants.

Sounding like a cave by Jerry. The devil will be the details, though. Hopefully there was at least a good behavior void in there.

The more important question is are you going to start him in your FFL?

I may put him in my flex spot? I'm not sure he'll get enough touches this week?

Yep, sounds like Jerry caved, unless the last couple of seasons are heavily back loaded.

So r cowboys fans happy?
Absolutely. Waiting on the details (maybe they are out now?) still as that is the most important thing. On it's face it is more than I would have paid and I would have gone into the season if need be if I were the team on principle, but we are ready to roll now for week 1 and the difference between what I would do and what they did was basically cutting a marginal veteran backup for a UDFA backup, so I'm good.

I suspect the $50M guaranteed we are hearing about is not at signing, but guarantees down the road

My vote for tweet of the month.

Dirk Nowitzki:

"Came home from China to all these cameras at the airport. I thought to myself:
“ Man. I still got it!!” ...... Turns out they were all there for zeke...."

.
I saw that too and so did Zeke. When I saw Zeke's response I knew it was a done deal

Jerry the GM is below average, I am a realist :)

But that is why Stephen is running more of the team now, Jerry is just the front man. As soon as "jerry and his best friends on the team" get out of the way we will be even better off.
Waaaaayyyyyy below average. Why do people think Dallas fans think he is a good GM? McClay and Garrett do the draft and Stephen does the negotiating and contracts. Jerry does contracts like this:

Let's see if true. This is what I've been saying. No idea if this is accurate or not but I hope it is. The next few years Zeke will be amazing so not a big deal what he is paid in the beginning of the contract but you want to be able to get out of the last 1, 2, or maybe even 3 years if need be. The first thing I do when I see the details is look at when the team can "get out" and that makes the real contract for me. For example if the last two years average $18M per and it is 6-$90M. It's really a 4-$54M contract. The backend is oftentimes just to stroke the player's ego and to make the agent look good.

To no one's surprise, Jerry caved.

what was our first bet?

was it an avatar bet, or was their vCash involved?

Cause you have limited funds, sucka. Maybe one of the Eagles fans here will lone you some vCash to cover....let's say...$5000 fat stacks. I'm sure I can get @fordman84 to get the accounting right.

So where do I collect?

If he is now the highest paid RB in the league, what would you call it?
Well, to be fair, he locked in zeke for the rest of his career at 2M more than he makes next year and has an out after 3 years if zeke fucks up

Need to hear more rest of week, but I'm leaning to starting him.

His cap hit would have been $9M next year...

24 and maybe not even in his peak prime this is a great deal for both sides. They need Zeke if they want to win a Super Bowl. Bottomline.
