I don't understand what the basis is for you trying to argue right now over a completely worthless thing to argue over.

Do you think I believe it's a bad contract?

Do you think it is somehow Jerry not caving?

I don't get it, why are you so caught up on semantics and want so badly to disregard the fact that Zeke secured the largest contract in the sports history for a RB?
He's trying to get you to understand this.

The cap hit from his signing bonus and option bonus are spread out thats why his cap hit is so low for the first couple of seasons. If he is no longer on the roster all that dead cap becomes due immediately.

The beauty of it is the signing bonus is counted starting now. He is cuttable after year 4, and only one year of bonus is left. Dallas gets PRIME Zeke for 4 more years, if he remains prime Dallas keeps him at a discount most likely for up to 4 additional years. If his wheels fall off Dallas simply cuts bait. Aside from a career ending injury I don't see what's not to like from the teams perspective.

No the salary does not guaranty until that date the team and only if he's still on the roster. The team would never wait for it to guaranty then cut him that wouldn't make any sense. Once again i'm what i'm trying to explain is the dead money is from his signing bonus and an option bonus that has only partially counted towards the Cowboys cap.

Aside from injury what's the possibility Dallas cuts Zeke after the 2020 season?

Zero imo its a 4 year 50 million dollar contract. After that Zeke isn't going to want to play on a contract with zero guaranties.

Problem is if Zeke tries to pull this again Dallas can pull back some of the bonus money.

It is a good deal for the Cowboys and it forces Zeke to behave himself. He only got $7.5 mil upfront He has option bonuses for the next 4 years with only one of them being guaranteed. The majority of his guarantees is in salary so if he fucks up again and gets suspended the Cowboys should be able to remove the guarantees if I am not mistaken.

I'm not sure they have an escape clause for behavior. I understand the team wanted it, but that was one of the road blocks for Elliott. It's possible the team did force the protection into the contract, I just don't know either way.

You could be right unless there is something in the CBA that allows a team to remove guarantees for conduct detrimental tot he team like the Raiders did to AB. I am sure he did not sign a contract with that clause in it.

I don't know. I do know there were reports the Elliott camp did not like some of the behavior clauses Dallas had/has in their offer. I have no idea if those clauses are still in play.

eagle fans remain obsessed with all things Dallas.
Get over it. Zeke has signed, playing the season and Dallas still has money to sign the others IF they so choose to

It is possible there were some compromises because the deal is really team friends and the guarantees are based mostly on salary.
