If you want just the Pac8 then that was early 60's when that name was adopted after the Oregon schools joined. But the shakeup that killed the original PCC was in like '58 or '59 and for a few brief years there was a different conference that I can't remember the acronym for, but was first nicknamed the 'big 5' (4 cali schools + UW) and then the 'big 6' after WSU joined. After all the butt hurt over the scandals that killed the PCC were healed up and UW was able to lobby for the oregon schools to return it was renamed to the Pac8. The Oregon schools joined before the name change, but it was sometime in the 60's. I love reading on this stuff and don't bother remembering the exact year. Anyone who remembers THAT much needs to go outside now and then.

To each his own...Beavers O-line is better than both Cal's and Utah's...Stanfords is a given every year USC has to prove it and UCLAs better improve.

UCLA's O-Line is the most tenured O-line in the Div #1 CFB....

Damn, not sure how many would know exactly when each school joined the original PCC. I know UW was one of the founding teams along with Cal and it was in the early 1900's, but dates on all of the originals? No way. I can say at one point Idaho and Montana were in that early conference. I think quite a bit later than the core Pac teams of today.

There's a lot of dirt under the carpets of the teams from that era. Cal was maybe the worst. Always trying to tear up the conference and make a california only league. Always bitching about the quality of education in the other schools. I mean they were happy to have UW when it came to adding legitimacy and having it attract more quality competition from across the country, but then they'd bitch up a storm about the other NW schools.

We talk about cheating today, but every schools did some form of it back then. Paid players, tried to get other teams in trouble by even making up false allegations, went to recruits houses from kids known to be interested in the other schools and lied about why they shouldn't go there. It was fucking cut throat stuff. Far more interesting than when each team joined.

I was more just trying to get in a "dig" on your QB play mike. Bruin O-line is fine, but the QB play was sporadic at best, especially when under pressure. Just glad the Beavs get you guys in CornValley this year, may be close for a half I figure.
