UW can't run for shit right now. If you believe your team will win simply keeping the run game down, you aren't paying any attention. Better know where #8 is at all times and have a plan for dealing with the rest of the pass game while also double teaming him.

Simple, just punt it away from him. Pettis is the definition of average as a receiver.

I hope everyone treats him like an average receiver.

I was talking about him as a receiver you dolt. He scored 3 receiving TD's yesterday and is their primary offensive weapon. Go ahead and overlook his receiving. He was deadly last year with Ross on the other side and has not missed a beat this year without his threat on the other side.

And UW's running game should be fine. They had an equally slow start last year through the non conference games and Gaskin and Coleman still went on to combine for 6 yards a carry, or something like that.

I was too, Pettis doesn't scare anyone as a receiver. He could maybe be our 4th WR. But he is killer as a returner.

Anyone happen to catch where the Huskies are ranked in the new polls? Or know where I can find highlights from yesterday's game?

For sure, but doesn't change the fact as a WR he is just another dude. As a returner he is nuts but a receiver he is just another guy.

So how you perceive he would rank on your team means exactly what when Browning is throwing to him against that unit you call a defense? :noidea:

I mean he's not exactly going against our defense or anything.

You've had a lot of reasons why WSU should play well against UW in our annual meeting and yet Leach hasn't ever even sniffed mild success against them.

Pettis is at best a 4th receiver on our team, he is an ok receiver at best dude. He is great at returner, don't take it personal that no-one is impressed with his coming out party against Fresno.

And not completely true, you guys Coug'd it in Leach's first year.

Last apple cup:
3 receptions for 86 yards and 2 TD's. 28.7y average.

Yeah, you all do a fantastic job of covering him. :thumb:

Ya, triple coverage on Ross and a backup corner...slow golf clap. I could've covered Pettis and made him look like he belonged.

You don't have a secondary anyone fears. Keep fooling yourself. Always makes the end result that much more satisfying.

Never said we do, but even our mediocre secondary can stop a pedestrian wideout when they aren't triple teaming a good one.

A College Football Conversation with Fox Sports Bruce Feldman

Question: 'Are the Huskies and Trojans on collision course for the Pac-12 Championship Game?'

“I think so. To me, they are two most talented teams in the Pac-12. If these two teams are in the title game, I would give the edge to Washington. I think the talent they have on defense, plus, having Chris Petersen as their head coach give the Huskies the edge. Washington has been there before, won it, and know what it takes to get the job done. Don’t get me wrong, the Trojans have Sam Darnold and some great talent, but a lot of that talent, including Darnold is young. They have not won any title or a playoff game yet. I want this game to happen because they don’t meet during the regular season and the hype for this game would be great.” Feldman said.

Didn't they have Peterson the last time USC and Washington played? Weren't people including Husky fans saying he got out coached ( USC game plan worked to perfection)?
