Closer spot is cursed. Banister just needs to close out with whomever is hot at the moment.

We blew too many saves this year. We could be at least 5 games better. Probably more.

Closer spot is cursed and the jays just seem to own this team no matter what. It's weird.

It's easy to blame a closer. He only gets one chance and in this case gave up one run. If we had scored more runs when we should have we would have won and not be having this conversation. RISP with less than two outs cost us the game as much as the closer. That's why it's a team sport. More times than not, one run probably doesn't beat us. Remember too, there were also five other runs that the closer did not surrender. So IMO it's a team win or a team loss.

Glad you caught yourself partner.

Although you are technically correct, it's still the closerers job to get the 3 outs too. And we, including Mr Bush, have been extremely poor at this all season, regardless of who gets the call.

He's got one single for the month of June.

Let me quote my source on this: Hitzges.

Evan needs to shut up,

Actually that article was actually pretty spot on in a lot of regards, I don't like Joe West but his observations about the game are pretty good,

I totally agree about the choking up and altering swings thing, Gallo and Odor could still murder baseballs pretty good if they choked up a little with 2 strikes and they would make a lot more contact and his average would probably improve

Basically all of this below
Game-changers
“The base running has gotten worse, and outfielders hitting the cutoff man is even worse. And no one changes their swing anymore. They’re all trying to hit home runs. They think, ‘If I’m a 30-home run hitter, I’m a millionaire. If I hit .270 and make contact, I’ll never be paid.

“It’s like watching the US Open now. If you keep swinging from your heels all the time, it’s tough to keep the ball in play. Babe Ruth struck out a lot too, but he hit .342.

“You just don’t see anyone try to hit the ball the other way. And nobody chokes up. Barry Bonds used to choke up on the first pitch, not just when it’s 0-and-2. The only one I see choking up now is the kid from Chicago, (Anthony) Rizzo, and he only does it when he has two strikes.’’
