Bronson looked so cooked out there. Stick a fork in him.

Stephenson has no command. This is just not for him.

Stephenson shoved himself off the roster, probably, but if he and Reed don't get it together, it's 3 counting Bronson, and I see Astin is already sent back to the minors.

You might want to add Feldman and Davis to that list too. Feldman didn't impress me at all on opening day, and we need to see how Davis does in his next few starts.
All said, this starting pitching staff is not very good, and may be the worst in the majors.
Maybe Feldman will surprise me today and make it through the 5th inning. And Arroyo and Davis will pitch well their next outing. I guess we will see

I am NOT a fan of the Bronson Plan. If they are going to stick a guy into the rotation without even an audition or spring training to prove he belongs, I hope the strategy is different. A piggyback 5-6 rotation guy(s) would be all right but it would be nice if I could see that. All I got was, Bronson signed and if he can lift his arm above his waist, he's our No. 5 guy. Nothing like telling Sal Romano that he needed to be older and more crinkly to get a job with the Reds.

To be fair, Stephenson hadn't pitched since they left Arizona.

I am NOT a fan of the Bronson Plan.

I hate to see Bronson go out like this. He's had a good major league career. I don't want to see him ruin by trying to extend it. So if he doesn't have it anymore, I don't like the plan either

Ultimately Stephenson is responsible for his performance, but I don't see the Reds putting him in a position to be successful.

Why did it take 40 pitches before the first coaching visit to the mound? I guess no one noticed he was struggling.

Price has been known to accept games that he can't win. Clearly the batting order reflected that.

I'll admit I didn't see Feldman and the Reds shutting out the Cards today.

The Cards aren't exactly hitting on all cylinders, but I'll take two out of three in St. Louis any day after all the Reds' past struggles there.

I liked Schebler last year after he started hitting in August. So that is nice that he came out of the gate hot.
The offense is getting some nice production from the 4-7 spots so I don't expect that to continue. Bullpen may end up getting too much work but for now, no problem. Once around the division will tell some tales. Still don't like this rotation. I think St. Louis is showing its true colors early. They will probably work to fix that.

The base hits were spread throughout the regular lineup over the weekend series with Cozart and Suarez leading with four knocks. Schebler went 3-7, 5 RBI's sitting out one game with a PH and Hamilton, Votto, Duvall each collected 3 hits.

The bench was another story. Alcantara, Kivlehan, Turner, and Gennett combined to go 1-22 in the series.

Being sarcastic .....
The Reds might want to stick with letting the pitchers pinch hit.

On to Pittsburgh.

The Reds will start LHP Finnegan, RHP Davis, and LHP Amir Garrett in the three game set.

Last season the Pirates were 20-9 versus LH starters.

Obviously it'll be Garrett's first outing against the Pirates, but it'll be a good test for Garrett against a team that hit lefties better than righties last season.

Finnegan has faced them three times and has been a bit of an exception going 2-1 with a 2.03 ERA.

Hopefully the matchup works out better for Rookie Davis. I think he'll pitch better this time around.

Feldman proved me wrong Sunday. Me being wrong is sort of my trademark, so no big deal, lol.
But on another note, I wish price would let some of these guys go a little deeper into the game
