Possibly 9-9 after the first 18. Not shabby, could have been better. No hitting is going to kill this team and hitting was supposed to be its best asset.
Yeah Joh that's a head scratcher. He pitched Tuesday night and seemed okay, Nothing was ever mentioned about it. and right after last nights game he went on the DL.
The first 18 (19 as it turns out) looks largely like we expected and is probably emblematic of the team's season, unless we believe that the pitching staff has performed above expectations. That's possibly true, but really ... not.
We need Finnegan in the rotation to provide a solid lefty.
That will be longer than they said, I think.
Adleman covered that gap pretty well in his 2 games so far but he's not even close to league average.
What the fuck is ever wrong with Schebler is what's wrong with Peraza. Are these guys trying to make the All-Star team with one swing?
Reed and Garrett are very positive signs. Peralta might be the real deal.
Duvall is what we expected, as is Barnhart.
Votto has hit into bad luck, apparently and Cozart has not.
Hamilton is what he is.
I think the near .500 for the first 18 or 19 to round it off to the final game of this series ... to be honest, I am a bit disappointed. Should have split Milwaukee and could have swept Baltimore. Never mind Friday's game.
You have to like the Adleman battled in that 6th inning. He was clearly tired, but still wasn't afraid to throw strikes.
That was a good game up till 2 outs in the ninth, Lorenzen barely got out of the 8th. I'm not sure why Price sent him out there in the ninth. guess there was no one else.
10-9 is OK-to-good. Coulda won 2 from the Orioles, 2 from the Cubs and split with the Brewers. Yeah, greedy ... but 13 wins is a good 1/9th of the season.
