Are you going to cross post this in The Steals Thread too?

The assist would have been better if it had come from Caruso when he was on the floor.

I don't think Lonzo should get credit for making a standing assist, when Caruso could have done a sitting assist.

Also, that video cut off the technical foul on LaVine, and Hardaway's ensuing missed technical FT.

I was an eternal optimist that they would one day be somebody who could challenge John Stockton‘s record for assists. Maybe one day. But surely they will never pass this. His son’s nine assists just push them too far over the top.

Maybe Brony James.

I can't find stats on his assists or steals.

He would enter college in 2023, and be eligible to be drafted in 2024.

Maybe his father LeBron will try to play in the NBA so he can overlap with Bronny's career?

Yes, he and his father will pass Stockton and his son. But neither alone will pass John. LeBron is pretty high up the assists ladder.

And that's only if Bronny James has a career in which he can get 4000 - 5000 assists.

Hopefully he's that type of player.

How many times did Jokic and Sabonis lead their teams in assists in 2020-2021; 2021-2022; 2022-2023?

You got the trivia answer, and I didn't even have to ask it in the form of a question!

Harden: Missed too many games.

Trae Young: I initially had him. But compared to Garland and Jarrett Allen, his FG% sucks. So I removed him.

If you want examples of good assisters who made the team, look at Haliburton, Sabonis, Jokic, and Antetokounmpo.

Adebayo had a few seasons at 5 assists per game, but had dropped to 3 the last few seasons.

Of the top 10 in steals, only Haliburton and Gilgeous-Alexander made it.

DeJounte Murray and Jimmy Butler could have made it, under different circumstances. Butler, if he played more games.

Murray, if he stood out more.

Is there a clip of the assist that moved James up another notch on the career assists list?

Haliburton is on the threshold of not averaging 10+ assists, 20+ points, after appearing he could do so, for most of the year.

And I'd rather see him not be so close to those margins. 10.7 assists, 21.3 points. I like the 1.8 steals, that is a good number.

So is the 48% FG.

Well I guess if I'm going to aim for a truly great season, I will suggest:

10.7 assists, 21.3 points, 1.7 steals, 50.6% FG, 87.1 FT%+.

I don't care about his 3-point %. Whether he's in the high 38s, or 40s, I know he's a great 3-point shooter.

I could ask for 50.6% FG and 90.4% FT, and not even take into account any other stats. But I don't think there's many players in league history that have done even that.

To me, there IS a difference between a 90.1%+ FT shooter, and a high 80s % shooter. There's just that much more confidence in the 90.1% shooter. With the high 80s shooter, I kind of expect him to miss one every 2 or 3 games he's at the foul line.

Not with the 90.1%+ shooter. I expect him to go on huge consecutive FTs made streaks.

Here's a list of top 5 consecutive streaks. I wish we could see the top 25 consecutive streaks, so we could see what other names come up.

I would have asked for 10.7 assists, 21.3 ppg, and 2.06 steals, but I know players have stopped getting steals since 2008-2009.

And 2.06 is still unsatisfactory for my eyes, I want to see 2.61+. Not sure if there's anyone in history that has done those 3 averages.
