as i said in the post you found funny, we'll have to play much better than we did tonight if we want to get a chance.

but USC does have a history of starting somewhat slow and picking up our game about a third of the way through the season. just look at last year. we started 1-3 and finished on a 9 game win streak, and were being talked about as the team nobody wanted to play.

So far, we've had two subpar games that were closer than they should have been but neither one resulted in a loss. By the time the playoffs are selected, everyone will have had close calls, and the ones later in the season will be fresher than the ones at the beginning.

Getting that 1 in the win column instead of the loss column is by far the most important thing this early in the season. Style points will matter more later on.

Didn't really need the sermon about SC. I'm a Domer, so I'm pretty familiar with SC's 'history' and tend to follow their foibles, much like the hype that was put on display, once again, tonite.

Just enjoy the win imo.SC is now the only ranked team to beat Tom Herman.I won't be surprised to see Texas continue to improve and build this season.Now SC needs to get some players healthy and move on to the next game

Texas didn't have the ball first though which is why I agree with his post. USC had the ball first in the first OT. I would have went for 2 if I was Texas. Even said it in the game thread also

I thought that TEXAS would go for two as well.
I was surprised they did not even consider it. That was the time to do it.

USC was rattled, and the Texas offense which is god awful finally had a little tiny bit of success.
It was unrealistic to think that slight glimmer of offense could continue through another few overtimes.

Play for the WIN on the road as a HUGE UNDERDOG.
Extending the game was just allowing the better team another series to assert itself.
