With the campus construction project going on, looks like the Spring Game will be moved to Le Bar practice fields. I don't know if it will be televised, but they are going to put in temporary bleachers and its by invitiation only. It was my understanding that they didn't take the game off-campus because of NCAA rules about having recruits visit off-campus events (I'm guessing as an unofficial visit). If so, that's a legitimate excuse, but means we probably won't get to watch it. Its far more important to host recruits than it is to have a big TV production of what is a glorified scrimmage.
I ordinarly think Spring Games are over-rated, both in terms of evaluating talent and gauging prospects for the upcoming season. I think they're at half-speed, despute what coaches may claim, the schemes are vanilla so as to not give away anything, and there is a LOOONG time between Spring and fall for guys to change shape, improve speed and skill, etc. I've never learned much from them. That said, I really miss football. Would be nice to have the diversion.
