Jamie Newman seems high

I watched a ton of Wake Forest last year (always a threat for an over when gambling) and Newman is a pretty damn good QB. It will be interesting to see how he translates to what Georgia does. Personally, I think if Newman is the guy, Georgia needs to alter their attack to more spread stuff. That’s where his talents lie.

With Monken as the new OC, we probably won’t go spread, especially since Newman is one one season guy, but the passing game should be opened up

I’m assuming you’re a Georgia fan. Much respect to your program. I’m an ND guy. You guys gave it to my Irish in two really entertaining football games. I think Kirby is ready to break through soon.

Sorry. Auto correct. I agree with you on Book. He doesn’t like to throw the ball down the field. He doesn’t trust his arm and that hurts the Irish against plus competition. If he is really a top 5 QB then ND should be a national title contender with their OL, run game and defense. However, like most years, they’ll likely be that next tier below, winning 10 games but losing to the best on the schedule.

Agree on Mond. Disagree on Ehlinger. He’s a hell of a collegiate QB. I think Rattler is really all about Lincoln Riley and the production he gets out of QBs. Bama is Bama. Any other program that would be in a QB battle wouldn’t have their QB listed but it’s Bama.

Yea but there are at least 7 (to my knowledge) that weren't starters last year. Considering it’s easier to go off of what can be backed up by evidence of what has been done in college, 7 isn’t awful.

I think that’s what the list is about not necessarily a ranking of NFL prospects.

For sure. I mean when Tebow was playing you would be hard pressed to find a list that didn’t have him 1 or 2 even though everyone (except the Broncos) knew it wouldn’t translate.

What is it about QB they can't get right. They always have the O line a good running game and usually good receivers but the QB spot has been a carousel of kids who come in highly rated but never get much better. But at least the rest of the team has been good at SC only the QB spot and receivers have been good. lol

Spencer Rattler is one I'm not so sure about. Seen too many smallish QBs from big HS programs with big numbers and they just don't look or fit at the next level close to the dominance they were used to in HS. Kinda like JT Daniels at USC.

Depends on your definition of "best". Is it going to be the guys that put up the best production or guys that are going to be the best prospects for the next level?

If we're going pro prospect route this would be my top 5: (only draft eligible)

1. Lawrence
2. Fields
3. Lance
4. Purdy
5. Newman

If we're basing it off production for next season, I'd go with this:

1. Fields
2. Lance
3. Rattler
4. Lawrence
5. Slovis(if he stays healthy)
