MSU 26, Illinois 17: The Illinois offense will make some plays, as it does against everyone. But MSU’s defense will keep the score down, as it does against everyone. That leaves it up to the MSU offense to reappear. With Jeremy Langford leading the way and Connor Cook hitting on some play-action passes, the Spartans will get it done and set up a showdown against Michigan.

Illinois 24, Michigan State 23: This is a game the Spartans should win comfortably because of the Illini's poor rushing defense. But they'll get caught looking ahead to next week's game against You Know Who.

MSU 31, Illinois 18: This is all about Big Ten dominance. The Illini haven’t won a game in the Big Ten this year, and it won’t happen Saturday. The Spartans’ defense is just too good. Speaking of Big Ten wins, here is my favorite stat of the week about MSU and the Big Ten: MSU has 30 Big Ten wins since the start of the 2008 season, the most of any team in the conference.
