Game was originally slated to be yesterday, but was postponed by heavy snow. Broadcast is on Joe TV (KZIO) so that's channel 22 for those on directv and dishnetwork...not sure about comcast or other channels
This will be the Sounder's first road game annnnnnd.............their first of two games without Clint Dempsey who is suspended for the dirty low blow he dished out in last week's loss.
It's hard to gauge a level of expectation for this team when key players are constantly in and out of the lineup. And in a sport where chemistry is so pivotal to the team's success, it seems like whenever these guys are starting to find some offensive chemistry something happens and deters their momentum
Regardless, here are some things I want to see in today's game
1) No more nonchalant passes
- Just like you wouldn't throw a wobbly pass across your body from one side of the field to the other in football, you certainly do not attempt a lazy retreating pass to the middle of the field on your side of the ball in soccer. The second goal we gave up was the equivalent of a pick 6, just a boneheaded nonchalant pass that lead a direct path to the goal.
2) Capitalize on opportunities
- Toronto really had only two real good opportunities last week to score and they scored both times. It's the same story every week for the Sounders, but they had at least 7-8 really good opportunities last week and only managed one goal.
3) Start fast and generate offense early
- Sounders play with a different aggression when they are down and in late game situations. I want them to come out and play with a sense of urgency early. Pick up on the offensive momentum that we were able to generate in the second half of last week's game.
