So far on the season Nebraska is averaging
6.2 yards on 1st down
4.48 yards on 2nd down
6.04 yards on 3rd down
I will take those numbers. But then when you break it up it goes down.
Non conference:
7.32 yards on first down
5 yards on 2nd down
8.15 on first down

REALLY GOOD
First 3 conference games:
6.76 yards on 1st down
4.75 on 2nd down
5.32 on 3rd down

Decent

Getting worse
Obviously penalties have been a big deal under Bo in his first 3 years. He has averaged 101 penalties and 896.6 penalty yards per year. This year they have 67 penalties for 556 yards. They started out well in the non conference averaging 4.5 penalties and 41.5 penalty yards per game. In conference play they are averaging 7 penalties per game and 57.14 penalty yards per game.
