So I just watched my first NCAA basketball game in years

Was OU vs KU. Wow, has happened to basketball. Was quite literally not enjoyable whatsoever. Felt like 40-50 fouls were called. It seems that you are guaranteed a foul if you go inside. Whats the point in playing defense? I was even bitching about calls in OU's favor, that bad. Has it always been this bad or is it just progressively gotten this bad?
