In the last several years, Why are runners sliding BY the plate and tagging it with their hand instead of sliding TO the plate with their toe?
I’ve seen about a dozen would-be runs turn into outs because of this as catchers apply tags ahead of the score.
Who is teaching this? Why isn’t it being corrected?
