Great call dumbass. ‍:L

Damn near $5 mil signing bonus. Apparently Oakland is going to let him play football this fall though.

Mark this down as another time I was wrong.

Aint no probably about it, that runt wont ever see the NFL unless he becomes Will Grier's equipment manager.
:ranger:

No argument there. You’re still gonna have to contend with him next season though.

You know there's other ways to look at this.

He could turn Oakland down and continue playing football and
baseball. After his Junior Year, MLB could draft him again. And
after his senior year, if need be.

Then he's in a position to play MLB against the NFL. Plus he'll know
if he has a shot in the NFL. He'd always have a shot in the CFL.

College players, live a great deal better, than rookie league, Class A
and Class AA baseball players live, and he'll have 3 or 4 years playing
at that level. That's a lot of bus trips.

If I was Murray, I would take the baseball money now. I don't see his potential as an NFL QB. He's a good college QB behind a good team, which Oklahoma is, but that doesn't translate into the big bucks.

At least this way he'll get plenty of money and even if he's a failure in baseball he'll have something to hold onto.

Fewer chances of winding up with CTC also.

Things just got very interesting, Murray was picked 9th. That's a 4-5 million dollar signing bonus

Why even consider playing football the opportunity for injury is insane especially since OU likes their QB to be mobile.

The kid's dad needs to sit him down.

Yes! Go play baseball. He's too short to play QB. Take the money.

He gets his signing bonus either way.

Without a doubt. I just don’t see any ways he’s drafted that high. If he goes around 40 which is as high as I’ve seen, you’re looking at a draft slot value of around $1.6 million. Probably not enough to make the jump. I know there is talk of whatever team drafting him possibly allowing him to play football this fall but I don’t know how much stock I put into that.

Well from 40 to top 10 pick! The allure of playing qb at OU is real. 4.75 mil is also real. Will be interesting to see it play out.

It’s already a done deal. He’s playing this fall.

Yeah, MLB has to try to figure out how much (if any) Murray's upside is if he dedicates to baseball on a full time basis. That could be a crap shoot.

Welp, I guess MLB thinks he has a ton of upside if he plays baseball full time!

He's a junior now, well 3 yrs removed from high school. He'll probably never get drafted this high again, so he has to either pick football or baseball now. Yes he could try football, and fall back on baseball but he'd probably lose a lot of money doing so.

2 words... Jacoby Ellsbury

Dude has a career line of .284/.342/.417/.760 and a 103 OPS+ and when his contract runs out at the end of the 2021 season, he'll stand to make 169 Million in his career.

I'm not even sure it's possible to make that much in the NFL these days. I think Kirk Cousins will have made a little over 130 Million by the time his fully guaranteed contract runs out after the 2020 season. At least he's at worst a top 15 player at his position. Ellsbury wouldn't even be seeing the field even if healthy.
