Isn't there more rest now than a few years ago? Aren't there a slight reduction in tournaments?

Maybe not Masters 1000s, but the lesser tier ones?

Plus, they did increase the gap between the FO and Wimbledon.

How would you change the tennis doping issue? Is it about frequency of testing, or the number of banned substances (you want more)?

This article from 2014 says the top players were tested 11 times a year, and both in competition and out of competition.

Sharapova has nobody to blame but herself for not knowing exactly what was in her "recovery drinks".

It's not too much to ask a millionaire to keep track of that, especially since WADA and the ITF do everything but hit players over the head with:

1) you are responsible for making sure you don't dope
2) the list of banned substances changes every year
3) there's an 800 number you can call any time any day to make sure that you're not doping

The only people making excuses for her are children, imbeciles, or both.

HS is unbelievably stupid.

It's really something.

I could understand a 1 year ban, or maybe even less, if it had been an oversight by Sharapova not knowing that her beta blocker had been added to the WADA banned list.

She's lucky it was only 2 years if it's true she was just blindly drinking whatever daddy and her trainer sent her way. It could've been a lot more.

Actually the whole thing should be dismissed with a warning. But the committee and ruling judges are high on whatever dope they are taking that is clouding their moral vision. Imbeciles is a good word I would use to describe them.
