Just reported on NFL that he's bee released. I wouldn't mind if the Hawks at least kick the tires. Clark is still just 30 and has been at a steady 5-6 sacks/yr for the past 3 seasons. That isn't super impressive or anything, but it's at least possible he's an upgrade over the worst DE on the roster, and he's certainly not going to be expensive.

I think my problem with that is we already have a pretty crowded house at the position. Nwosu, Taylor, Mafe, and Hall. Not sure how many snaps Clark would get. I also don't think he will be that cheap.

Id only want Clark if he played a situational role like Carlos dunlap.

Forget the giants game for now, this defense is horrible on 3rd down and he might provide enough pressure to improve our chances to stop 3rd and 15.

Speaking of recent losses coming out of the bye, did anyone else get reminded of last year's Josh Jacobs fumble reversal last night when Denver's RB got knocked back and then fumbled at the end of the game? Last year they told us Jacobs' fumble didn't count because his forward progress had been stopped. Seemed not much different than what I saw last night.
Dang... Great memory... I noticed that last night as well but I couldn't remember where I had seen that play vs the Seahawks last season... That was a huge play and could've changed the outcome of the game...

There is a reason he's been team hopping and getting released... I'd rather just get our current, young guys reps... I think Flyer mentioned that Mafe was #2 in win % at the LOS or something like that... I don't want Mafe to lose snaps if that's the case... Hall has also been gaining momentum...

We do have the money available in our salary cap this season - I just hope they use it a different way if they're going to spend it... Also, he's a typical 4-3 DE not a 3-4... I don't think he would be as affective in our 3-4... I could be wrong..

Yeah, there's a reason why teams do pretty much everything, and not all those reasons are good or end up being right. I don't think we should cut a young, promising player in order to bring in Clark, but we should at least execute the due diligence of exploring options. That's all I am saying. Pass rush has been a problem for this team the past couple seasons, and I don't think it's all fixed right now despite what we last saw vs NYG's broken team. Coming back to the place/environment where it all began might help reinvigorate Frank Clark like it seems to be doing with Jarran Reed and Bobby Wagner.

I think he's a pass rush specialist at this point in his career, so I am not sure it matters if he's a wonderful fit for our current base scheme. You put him out there in obvious passing downs and let him do what he does best.

if Clark will play for vet minimum to prove himself, sure, kick the tires and put him in on 3rd and longs. But I don't really think he's going to make any difference. If he wants anything resembling a real payday, fuck him. He isn't worth throwing cash away for.

We have SO MANY young guys that play the same position as Clark plays i see ZERO reason to bring him in.

NFL pondering possibility of playing Super Bowl in London

As the NFL prepares for its third straight Sunday in London, the league already has discussed the idea of one day playing a Super Bowl in the British capital, according to commissioner Roger Goodell.

A Super Bowl in London is not happening anytime soon, but the NFL has at least pondered the possibility of it.

"It is not impossible, and it is something that has been discussed before," Goodell told a fan forum in London last week.

The priority continues to be to play Super Bowls in cities with NFL franchises, but the league also has a strong desire to grow its brand internationally, as evidenced by Sunday's Titans-Ravens contest -- the third London game in as many weeks.

The next three Super Bowls are slated to be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in February 2024, Caesars Superdome in New Orleans in February 2025, and Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, in February 2026.

There has been no momentum building yet for a Super Bowl in London, but as one league source told ESPN last week: "Absolutely, it would make sense."

Goodell said at the fan forum: "I think that is not out of the question. But at the end of the day, I think right now our formula will stay the same about playing [Super Bowls] in cities that have franchises."

A London Super Bowl would bring a unique set of logistical challenges, including the time difference. The game would have to be played at night in London -- 8:30 p.m. local time, hypothetically, which would be 3:30 p.m. ET and 12:30 p.m. on the West Coast.

Kickoff times for the three London games this season have been 9:30 a.m. ET, 2:30 p.m. local time.

But as usual, these types of decisions often hinge on revenue, and the league wants revenue to continue to flow to cities that currently support NFL teams.

"I think being able to play it in one of our cities -- it's at a huge economic boost to those cities," Goodell said at the fan forum. "Our fans live in those cities also. I think that is important. Not that we do not have great fans here [in London]; we do. So, as the international series develops, maybe that is a possibility as we play more games here."

Sources around the NFL have speculated in recent weeks that it's only a matter of time before the league shifts its focus to playing a Super Bowl in London. One league official who was in London in recent weeks commented that it felt like the league was using these three international games -- Falcons-Jaguars, Bills-Jaguars, and Titans-Ravens on Sunday -- as a trial balloon for bigger concepts in London.

The NFL will play five games in Europe this season -- three in London and two in Germany -- and is preparing to play future international games in Spain and Brazil, according to NFL executive vice president Peter O'Reilly. The league sent officials last month to investigate the possibility of playing the first NFL regular-season games in Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil, as soon as next season.

O'Reilly also has said the NFL also is studying the possibility of playing a regular-season game in Australia, although the logistics of a game there would be more challenging.
