Seems the Seahawks want to keep as many key players as possible, so I was look how the cap looks after signing KJ Wright and Avril.

SeahawksCap2015

"Total Cap Number: $110,868,970 (Top 51: $110,868,970)"

As of now the salary cap is $133 million, however the cap is going to go up, maybe by a lot.

What will be the cap for NFL in 2015

Best guess seems to be $138 million to $140 million.

If it goes up to that figure, NFL teams would be smart to sign their players before the numbers become official, if they are able, that is. Looks like the Seahawks will have plenty of money to sign who they want.

The first link keeps starting at the 2014 season, just click on 2015 for cap numbers for that year.

Excellent Harold.

What outsiders don't understand is the actual CAP. They talk about the CAP like they do understand, but clearly they don't and neither do I, because I'm not privy to all that info.

Haters make claims like, Seattle won't be able to sign all their STARS when Wilson is signed to his HUGE contract. purguy!

EVERY team has employees that spend their lives working on the CAP situation, and that list of people who understand the CAP DOESN'T include any of us posters here on SportsHoopla. Sorry wanna be CAPsters.

I'm positive the "special room" at the VMAC is dedicated to CAP situations. I'm pretty sure they know exactly what they can and will offer each player and I'm NOT worried.

Russell and Bobby WILL get their due.

Good find Harold, paints a pretty good picture.

I think capwise the team has much more flexibility for 2015 then it did last offseason. Even with new deals for Bobby and Russell, typically the cap hit on those wont be enormous in year 1. The only defensive starter that isn't locked up for next year is Maxwell. I mean 10 of 11 starters locked in on defense is pretty awesome.

Last year we knew a lot of cap would have to be shed (Rice, Clem, Bryant) where as this offseason that may not be the case. The only guy that jumps out is Zach Miller but even his number isn't enormous.

Depending on if they want to bring Kevin Williams back, I could see an outside signing on the D-Line specially the DT spot. Also depending on how they feel about the TE group (Miller, Willson, Helfet and Moeaki) they could add there as well.

Also with I think 10-11 draft picks this year a lot of our depth could be reloaded in the coming years.

All in all I think the Hawks are in a great spot moving forward.

The Hawks plan seems fairly clear to me. Keep the defense in tact, and give them the money. On the offense side of the ball they will pay the most important position in Russ, but otherwise fill via draft with budget deals. Defense win Super Bowls, and Wilson will just have to make magic on the offensive side; if we win the SB again I see Lynch retiring.

Yeah, defense wins CSHIPs... The leadership here obviously knows what they're doing... They have given us no reason to second guess them since they've arrived... Keeping the defense in tact at key positions, while hopefully continuously addressing the OL will keep us competitive for a long time... I like how the team has tried to address the OL but we just haven't had much luck there... That will turn soon imo...

Playing Devil's Advocate, we have a slew of UFA's coming off the books this year. That is why we have such a low cap # to start the 2015 season.

For fun, let's say RW's and Wag's gets extended this off season and let's just say the hit is $18M for the pair this year. That will increase in `16 when the full contract kicks in.
Using harold's data $111M + the $18M (RW&Wags) + $5M for rookie contracts then adding in almost a $3M rollover to a $140M max cap leaves us roughly $9M left to sign our UFA's.
This is just a rough guess and I am no cap pro. This does not count any restructures to lower cap or cutting a player.
We will need more cap room to sign some of these guys.

Not worried about it in any form, they can move things in so many ways to move the money further out, signing bonuses, benchmarks incentives and what not.

Remember only the top 51 salaries count against the cap. The cut off seems to be $510,000, so those making less will not count against the cap. One other thing I am not clear on is, if there is any roll over cap space for the Seahawks in 2015.

IIRC, our rollover is just under 3 million
