*enters meeting*

Sam: "Hi there, I would like to open up negotiations with stating that I'd like no less than $25 million annually"

Eagles GM: *throws up everywhere* *looks at colleagues in disbelief* "You got yourself a deal, Samuel."

*front office walks away snickering thinking they got a steal*

I would still say "No" to that man, he decreased this season,( I know hard to believe from butt boy) plus your talking from Kelly's spread and shit offense to a west coast offense with Pedersen it wouldn't work.
Yea obviously I'm not watching each & every Philly game. I just judged that original orgument in the other thread based on the numbers comparison. Which were almost identical. So basing the decision off that it seemed simple enough to let Bradford walk.

22 - 25 million per is the new normal.

QB's like Cutler and Tannehill make around 17 million a year. 22-25 is for the truly elite. Bradford is drunk. He really doesn't even deserve 17. He can't stay healthy, he lacks the NFL arm, he just plays small, etc. Mark Sanchez put up similar numbers in the same system.

I think in the end Bradford & his agent are using the same strategy that most players use in contract negotiations. Set the demand high, let the team make an offer, and then meet somewhere in the middle.

He'll probably end up around $18-20mil per year. Philly would be stupid to pay him more than that.

Oh I agree his isn't worth that money. But that's inflation. Wait till Luck signs his 30/yr deal.

I should have been more accurate though. 22 - 25 is becoming the new normal

Way too much money for a half-ass QB.

This says more about the Philly situation than anything else. He was approached with an extension before he established his value during the season. So why not ask for the moon in order to forgo his free agency? Now he can pick his team & still make in the $15-17 mil range.

It it was a smart business move.

Every year we see numbers like this come out. Most likely it is just a player being told by their agent to throw out a high number knowing they can always come down. If you throw out right away what is the bottom number you would take you have screwed yourself. Most likely the number would be closer to that $17-19 million where that middle tier of QB's are getting paid these days. I mean the 20th highest paid QB in the league is still making right at $13 million a year. So I am sure his true number is somewhere right outside the top-10 where that $19 million starts.

I wonder if we heard the teams first offer it would be something like 5 years for $45M, only 2 years and $8M guaranteed. Something equally absurd, but not "leaked".
