Saban is never going to the NFL again.
He is treated like a deity in Alabama, by the fans, the players, the administration, and the media.
When you are making $7,000,000 with basically no hate mail AND they pay your expensive mortgages off, why do anything else? He has achieved the goal I wish I could achieve, be rich and have other rich people pay all of your bills.
I would agree, but I don't think it has anything to do with money. I could only see 2 reasons why Saban would leave for the NFL (in this particular order):
1) He wants to prove that he can be successful on the pro level. IMO, that is why he initially left LSU.
2) He has a "no brainer" job offer. In other words, the NFL team offering him a job has so much potential and/or has an amazing and young QB, that he could coach 3-5 years and have a fairly good chance at making it to the SuperBowl in that time period.
IMHO, Saban doesn't need money, and is in the final 3-5 years of his coaching career. Does he want to spend them furthering his legacy as a college coach with the best program in the country, or does he want to venture out and use his remaining time trying to prove that he can do it at all levels? I think Saban would have jumped ship a few years back if he really wanted to try the NFL again. He will retire as arguably the best coach Bama has ever had, and that is a pretty tough accomplishment when you are constantly compared to Bryant!
