Well then goodbye Wagner...
I think the team will figure out a way to keep both. It is not impossible especially if the cap increases again next year which is expected.

i don't disagree. Was just responding to the post. With all this talent...at some point Sea is going to start letting guys go or restructuring contracts and moving money back. No reason to not get all the wins possible out of this current group

That link seems a bit misleading -- doesnt really match what the dude on the video is saying. Was more about use of the franchise tag next year (and then by default which one gets a deal done this year if only 1) than it was Seattle having to choose to keep 1 or the other.

The choice of who to keep and who to let go was more between Wagner and Irvin. They extended KJ Wright last year, so you're probably not sinking all that money into one position. The Hawks didnt pick up the 5th year option on Irvin and are now negotiating with Wagner on an extension beyond 2015, so it appears they have made their decision without directly saying it.

Guys have been leaving. We heard about how much we lost last off-season after SB48 (Clint McDonald, Chris Clemons, Walter Thurmond, Brandon Browner, Breno Giacomini, Chris Maragos). This off-season Maxwell, James Carpenter, Malcolm Smith, and Jerron Johnson left via free agency; Unger traded away and Zach Miller cut. So the team is already settled into "can't keep everyone" territory, though the list of "everyone" to keep is getting shorter because between this off-season and last, we've already re-signed or extended Lynch, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, Cliff Avril, KJ Wright, and Michael Bennett. Wagner and the team are negotiating now; the only "star" player really left is Russell Wilson, and that's going to get done by hook or by crook. Maybe some of those contacts will collide down the line unless the cap doesnt increase enough, but there really arent any more big names that aren't with long term deals.

Yes, thank you. Duh.

Also re-signed Doug Baldwin around the same time, though he's far from a "star" player.

EDIT: and of course Percy Harvin was traded off last year after getting a big contract, though now it feels like he was never even here.

$10M will fall off of Seattle's dead money list from Harvin, Unger, and Zack Miller in 2016.
That plus a larger cap will add some room to work with.
