I was told earlier today that the 49ers were not going to let him out of the building and that definitely held true.

I think John Lynch is doing a very good job. The three years is great. He'll be 33. Not stuck with dead money. This assumes he is all good from his injury.

Plus from the sound of things the 49ers can actually get out of the deal after year 1 with not a huge dead money hit. So more like a 1-year prove it deal with 2 extra years just in case he is back to his old self.

And I agree Lynch is doing a fine job so far. Got their QB locked up, some very young pieces in place, and still plenty of cap space to add more talent on top of still having a top-10 pick.

He is not about to become a free agent, he was released from his contact.

He is actually signed. Very different situation for him compared to others hitting FA.

According to multiple people out there, a bunch o9f teams are very inetrested in Butler. Just know what CBS said about Solder. That and O'Brien is familiar with him and the Texans are in desperate need of offensive linemen.
