Time for a new round tracker thread.

I continue to recover very well from my surgery though I have some mild episodic pain to work through. The big news for the year is that my league partner dropped out of the Tuesday league for this year. Not a bad thing as he was very difficult to play with (tantrums) and is a high handicapper. For this year I just recently teamed up with a nice guy and decent player who's also an 8 hcp so we're going to be playing in the A Division with the top players. It's gonna be a blast to tee it up in that crowd and I look forward to meeting and befriending some new members.

First, we have this damn snow and cold to get through~

Played yesterday, horrible start 22 after 4 holes. Moved to the yellow tees and had five straight pars for a 42.

Might have to stay at those tees until the shoulders are better, and maybe beyond, I've read where there is a lack of distance after shoulder replacement.

Glad you're playing and I hope you have a full recovery.

I'm almost 100% with the new hip and we found this new very cool simulator place not too far away. Between that and my home range, I should be able to get ready for 2024. Really looking forward to not hobbling around.

Going to cheat today, yesterday I hit a ball out of the rough and I thought my arm was torn off. Today if I'm in the rough, I'm tossing it in the fairway.

42 from the yellows. Saw a video where the guy talked about that you should feel the top of your lead hand is facing the ground before contact...i had forgot all about that. I incorporated that into my swing plus doing an easier swing. Shots were straighter, now if I could have putted better, i could have went low...but the greens are really wet and slow.

But we golfed in February in Minnesota...a first for us.

Me and a bud are taking the wives to a cool simulator place on Sunday.

I hit balls at my home range almost every day.

Well fuck all, the dude I was gonna team with has dropped out on me so back to square one. Oh well, something will open up.

Just getting through a bum shoulder. I haven't made full swings in a few weeks but I'm getting close and might meet my buddy over at the course tomorrow mid day to knock it around. Only the temp pins; greens are closed still. We've been able to drive an hour to a couple of public places that stay open all winter.

Just got fleeced a few thousand bucks for my membership but hey, it's worth it. What good is money anyway?!

Our signature hole, #17 is awesome. You have to find the fairway or you're blocked out from getting it up to the green. If I fuck up my drive, I wedge it to the base of the hill and then wedge it up onto the green and take my two putt bogey. You can rack up a big number trying to thread a miracle between the banks.

Got to go down to Streamsong a couple of weeks ago. Played Red and Blue. Both courses were amazing but preferred Blue.

Red - 44-38-82 (with 38 putts and 3 doubles)
Blue - 38-43-81 (with 39 putts and 2 doubles)

Man if I could putt.....

And oh yea.... I hit my first hole in one!

Her knee replacement was scheduled for January 16th - necessitating cancellation of my Wyoming ski trip. :L
Her "Sports Orthopaedics Surgeon broke his collar bone skiing the weekend before surgery - necessitating a delay until February 20th - necessitating cancellation of my Florida golf trip in March. :L
Day before surgery he asked us if we had any questions... I had two: "How the heck did you break your collarbone? What ski hill did you do it on?"

Played Punta Blanca in Punta Cana last week. I could get used to 200 yard wide fairways and playing up a tee box with my dad and brother-in-laws more often. Even with rented clubs.

Was +3 through 14. Then went double-bogey-par-bogey. I blame not having had anything to eat with the fade at the end. Lost concentration.

Our course opened yesterday. Still having leg issues but I managed to hobble around and shoot a fine score yesterday.

Opened with birdie birdie. Then I was on the 17th at +7. I could bogey the last two and still break 80. Well, I proceeded to fuck up #17 and took a double. That put me on the 18th tee at +9 so I needed a par.

Piped it down the middle, hit the green and putted to tap-in distance for the 79!

Got clearance to play golf 8 weeks after shoulder replacement.

Only playing nine holes for now. Shot a 44 and then a 46.

Today I took a day off because the shoulder was a little more painful than normal....but there's progress.

8 weeks is remarkable....kudos.

Knock on wood my leg just started to feel a little better this week. Hit some balls the past two days and haven't made it worse.
