Drob is a stud. I like Claypool but I will take Drob. Just my opinion. Claypool Competition was weak. I like his potential but I wouldnt put him on the same level as Drob.

I agree but he matched up against some top DB's on the summer circuit and did very well against them.

I think Chase Claypool will have more impact on the Notre Dame roster than Robertson would have. Claypool is a match-up nightmare with his size. In all honestly, I think Robertson will be a fine college player but I don't see him putting the work into football to make him elite.
Good to see some Canadians getting some luv from you guys.

The other Canadian just feels the contempt ;)

Drob taking his last official visit next weekend in Bama. He is also re taking the SAT this weekend. So this will go on for at least 3-4 more weeks until he gets results.

Golson should have transferred to a mid american type team so he could potentially put up huge numbers. I'm glad he transferred from ND. The quarterback position was good this year without him

It doesn't matter to me any more as I really don't think he will commit to Notre Dame.

So I hear that he just signed with Cal. So much for it being between Stanford, ND and Alabama/Georgia. Since I don't need to be nice, I bet he does a Tee Shepard and ends up at 2-3 different schools. (I get nasty when dumped)

Cal? Cal? Geez, I'd have had an ounce of respect if it was UCLA. Talk about aiming low. Isn't Jared Goff leaving?

Anyway, doesn't seem like his interests will coincide with ours, so good luck I guess.

I heard this from a friend of mine. It's always possible that he's full of crap.

Rivals is reporting that he signed an aid agreement with Cal, but not a letter of intent. Who knows what's going on with this guy. It seems like he could end up almost anywhere and I don't know that I'd be surprised at this point.

over at the other board, someone posted that he signed the financial aid agreement which is not the same as a letter of intent. FWIW, he also signed one with Ga. Tech. So, perhaps those are the two finalists.

This is why I usually don't post informational posts here, I just respond to other guys posts.

I don't think it really means much, he can still do the same for Stanford, ND or Alabama.

My money is still on him going to Stanford

We finally have an update from Drob. He finally spoke about the situation.
THis is from him:
Stanford is his #1. Thats why he is trying to get in.
Cal and ND are pushing the hardest for the #1 spot. So basically if he doesnt get into Stanford it will be a battle between Cal and ND and the print is on the wall that Cal is in the lead because he already started the process.

The one thing that also brings the Irish down is he says he wants it to feel like home. only 3 schools he felt that with Cal, Bama and GT.

2017 4 Star QB Avery Davis from Cedar Hill HS in Texas verbally committed to ND today. He apparently played a huge role in his teams run to the 6A State Championship as a sophomore. According to 247Sports he's the 7th ranked dual-threat QB in the class.

GO IRISH!

4 Star WR Trey Blount was so impressed with ND on his Junior Day visit that he's already scheduled a return visit for the Stanford game. He also has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Oregon and Tennessee among others. Blount's teammate will be a preferred walk-on at ND this fall. Blount is the #1 WR is Georgia. Let's hope he has more follow through than that other WR from Georgia.

GO IRISH!

I was just reading about this, great news for Notre Dame get your QB committed early to help recruit other star players particularly from Texas. He threw for like 2500 yards, rushed for 800, threw 25 TD's and rushed for 12 or 13 TD's so I would say so.
