He's been one of the coaches in college mentioned as a possible NFL Head Coach for awhile. He and his staff have been great player developers, and his defensive schemes have always been very solid. I don't think he's an exceptional in-game coach or motivator, but he could successful with the right offensive coaches and players. It's not a spectacular hire, but he's not as bad as his record at Rutgers would indicate, either.

This is great news! With the Bucs hiring Greg Schiano and the Colts bringing in Chuck Pagano as their next Head Coach that means Zimmer returns next season. I'm sorry for Zim but I'm glad we retained him for at least one more season.
