What is Napoli's primary duty?

First base, and yeah he's bad so far. If he continues like this into may then we can have the replacement conversation.

Still no time to be around like I want, but need to stop in and say Dyson did his job. After I ripped on him, I want to stay evek-keeled and not just focus when he messes up.

Still don't trust him like I would want, but he went out and closed the game just like I was hoping.

I think Nap and Lucroy both are going to get rolling here pretty soon. Right now Nap looks to be trying too hard, I bet he gets some time in the cage today working with coaches to figure out the hole in his swing. It looks like he want to hit a HR on every swing, they need to get him dialed in and hitting line drives first.

I think the road series will help focus them both. It will give them time away from home/family and let them reset. Sure would be nice for everyone to be hot right now, but we are getting good production from others so when those two get rolling it's going to be good times.

I listened to the end of the game yesterday. Nadel said Dyson appeared to have trouble getting the ball down.

A series win is what the team needed for sure.

One year, the Rangers went 4-2 during a week, including a sweep of the Red Sox, who went 2-4.

In their next rankings, BSPN had the Rangers at #2... and the Red Sox at #1.

Fuck BSPN.

No longer scared of the strikeout, new-look Joey Gallo is proving his worth to Rangers in power | SportsDay

The biggest moment in the Rangers' 8-1 win over Oakland was Gallo's bases-loaded single off 98 mph gas from Frankie Montas. As Gallo tries to shake free from obsessing about trying not to strike out, it was a bigger moment in his career. It hammered home keeping his focus on what he can do, rather than what might happen. In that regard, it was a bigger moment than the three-run homer hit in the second inning or the fact he walked away with a career-high five RBIs.

It was the first hit of his career -- yes, career -- after falling behind 0-2. He entered the day 0 for 42 with 38 strikeouts after falling behind 0-2.

Gallo promised he would not worry as much about strikeouts this year.

"When I get to two strikes, I'm not really panicking," Gallo said. "I'm not saying 'I can't get there. I can't strike out.' I'm not really scared of the situation. I've taken some pressure off myself. I've allowed myself to be human."

Which may allow him to better show his superhuman feats of strength.

He showed those early in the game, blasting a first-pitch fastball from lefty Sean Manaea 400 feet into a 20 mph wind that was blowing from right to left. He powered the ball through the wind and into the right-field stands for a three-run homer that gave the Rangers the lead. It was his second homer of the season's first week and his first major league hit off a lefty since June 27, 2015.

If you are getting the impression that maybe we are suggesting this Joey Gallo is a bit different than the one you've seen previously, well, then you are getting the hint. At least, that's what the Rangers are hinting at.

"We talk about being stubborn with an approach," manager Jeff Banister said. "There are times you can get negative results and get off your approach. He has allowed himself to forget about the results of the last at-bat and just focus on the at-bat in front of him.

That makes for a reason to be concerned. Could it be Gallo is doing so well that it's a good time to give AB more time to heal.
